Our Story
THE STORY OF FILTHY FRIDAY
Filthy Friday exploded onto the scene in 2017, riding the wave of the hostel culture boom in Central America and bringing an international crowd to the tropical paradise of Bocas del Toro.
Ricky Martinez was slinging drinks behind the bar after years of travelling as a geopolitical journalist, while Fabio Acevedo brought years of experience behind the decks. They both saw the same thing: Bocas was missing something. Not just another party, but an experience that could bring people together and showcase everything that made Bocas special.
With a few flyers on the streets and an expectation of around 50 guests, Filthy Friday was born.
What started as a small idea quickly became something much bigger.
Today, Filthy Friday has grown into a cultural institution in Bocas del Toro and one of Panama’s most recognised party experiences. Known for its incredible setting, loud music, international crowd, playful energy and unapologetically good time, Filthy has become a Friday tradition for travellers and locals from around the world.
But the heart of Filthy has never changed.
The crowd is the party.
People don't come to stand around and watch. They come to get involved, meet people, dance, laugh, let loose and become part of the experience.
From 50 guests to hundreds of Fridays later, you are Filthy Friday.
